Holiday Gift Guide – Manly Man Edition: Games

It’s time for part two of the Manly Man holiday gift guide.  Today we’re going to review some of the hottest video games this season that you’re favorite nerd will love!  So as not to leave anyone out, we’ve included a great game for every system in your gaming arsenal.  First up is a game for my system of choice, the Nintendo Wii.

Available at Amazon $49.99

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is a game sure to bring joy to the hearts of any Wii owner.  Receiving a perfect 10/10 on ign.com, the next game in this long-lived series is on track to win many awards.  With 1-to-1 motion controls relating your movement precisely to Link’s, Skyward Sword looks to be one of the most captivating games for the Wii this year.  Priced at $49.99, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is available November 20th and will make a great gift for any Wii owner.

Available at Amazon $59.99

Up next, one of the most anticipated (if not the most anticipated) games of 2011 is available for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.  IGN gave it a 9.5 out of 10 and it boasts a massive environment with a limitless number of quests.  If you haven’t figured it out by now, I’m talking about Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.  The follow-up to 2006’s game of the year, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Skyrim is already well on its way to winning game of the year.  With hours upon hours of gameplay in a well-developed and rich world for only $59.99 Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will guarantee a smile on your loved one’s face.

Available at Amazon $9.29

Finally, as an additional “stocking stuffer”, we’ve included Plants vs. Zombies.  At only $9.29 this game offers hours of play for a minimal price.  Plants vs. Zombies is incredibly simple to understand but is also incredibly addictive.  With similar play style to that of tower defense games, Plants vs. Zombies is a great way to kill a couple of hours.  If you’re looking for a way to use up that last bit of your holiday budget, look no further than Plants vs. Zombies, it is anything but disapointing.

For the last section of the Manly Man holiday gift guide tomorrow, we’re going to feature some cool geeky gadgets that make great Christmas gifts.  So if you still don’t know what to get your nerdy loved one, come back tomorrow for our final day of the gift guide.
