Fall 2011 Fashion

It’s finally fall, the only time of year that you have the freedom to dress fashionably in the midwest. During the summer months I’m sweating in tank-tops and shorts, and once December hits I’m so bundled in scarves and giant coats I can hardly walk, but during the fall I can kind of dress the way I dream. I put together a fantasy fall outfit appropriate for class or the office. Read more for a description of the items and where you can get them.

1. Skirt from H&M $24.00 (buy here)

I love this skirt, the camel color is gorgeous and conservative enough to be appropriate for any location. Another great thing about this skirt is the length. I love high-waisted skirts, but they often become micro-minis when belted high. This skirt is long enough to be practical for fall and hits just at the knees, just where it should.

2. Coralie Sheer White Blouse from Reiss $230 (buy here)

Sheer blouses are one of my favorite wardrobe staples. They look a little less buttoned-up than a regular blouse, and the light sheer fabric drapes beautifully so they always create beautiful tucks. While this top is expensive, it’s always versatile basics like this that you should splurge on, I can imagine wearing this shirt a million different ways.

3. Bienial Satchel from J Crew $348 (buy here)

Such a beautiful every day bag. Simple, clean lines and minimal hardware this bag will go with any outfit. It doesn’t have a trendy designer label stamped on it, which keeps it feeling classic, and ensures that you’ll be able to carry it through many waves of trends. The saddle color adds interest and makes it feel warm, and perfect to carry in fall.

4. Low Luv Stud Earrings by Erin Wasson from Opening Ceremony $40 (buy here)

I’m all about minimal jewelry, so these studs are perfect in my eyes. The crystal shape brings a little youth to the look and makes things a little funky, while not being distracting, or making the look inappropriate for the office.

5. Black Leather Riding Boots from Rupert Sanderson $1145 (buy here)

Every outfit deserves a dream-big piece, and for this look it’s these gorgeous riding boots. If you can get over the price, they’re the perfect boot. Simple, completely on-trend for the season and practical to wear on grey fall days. The best part is the gold buckle, tying the whole look together, from head to toe.

6. Fluidline Gel Liner in Blacktrack from MAC $15 (buy here)

I included my favorite liner to create a cat eye, the best makeup look for fall.
